OUR FARMSTAND STORY
A BEAUTIFUL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN HOLOHOLO GENERAL STORE & TWIN BRIDGE FARMS.
TWIN BRIDGE FARMS
was born out of necessity and a love of farming after the Waialua Sugar Plantation closed back in the mid-1990s. With more than 45 years combined experience of farming, Milton Agader and Al Medrano set out to forge their own path in the local Waialua agricultural community, growing diversified premium vegetables, and specializing in asparagus. As long time residents of Waialua, the farm partners built the farmstand in Hale‘iwa, intended as a gathering spot for the community they love and respect. Rather than operating the farmstand themselves, they wanted to give back to the next generation by offering an opportunity of a lifetime…
ENTER TEAM HOLOHOLO…
a vivacious group of women, the owners and operators of Holoholo General Store (a multi-farm CSA with deliveries to families at schools and businesses) and Holoholo Farm (a six-acre diversified, organic farm in Hale‘iwa). Grateful for the opportunity to open the Red Barn Farmstand, social entrepreneurs Jill Nordby and Jamie Sexton, and twin-sister farmers Emily and Elisabeth Beagle set out to combine their love of food and farming with their passion to support local producers by offering a daily assortment of fresh produce and delicious on-the-go food options. The women of Holoholo intend to carry out Al and Milton’s wish to create a welcoming space to gather, talk story and appreciate the North Shore’s bounty.
After the Red Barn opening in October 2016,
The Wonder Twins, Elisabeth and Emily, left our team at the end of the year to return to the mainland. We have a wonderful new team that's growing and thriving, bringing new energy to the Holoholo Farm and the Red Barn Farmstand! We look forward to bringing more events to the Barn and hosting more keiki field trips and family experiences. Come out to Hale‘iwa and meet our ‘ohana—we'd certainly love to meet yours!
